The butt fusion is accomplished by precise and tight contact of both melted pipes’ends. To accomplish this, trimming tool, heating plate and rail guide are required. The elbow or T branch fusion are also applicable and it is generally used for bigger outer diameter pipes more than OD 90mm.
The electrofusion is operated on predefined welding condition. Precisely fabricated socket contains heating coils is used to melt both outer surface of pipes and inner surface of socket. Each socket has a barcode tag that tells controller heating current and duration time etc. This advanced technology provides less failure than others.
This is a traditional jointing technology that has been widely used in most pipe industry. Its simple and fast jointing feature occupy predominant share for smaller diameter pipes less than ID 100mm.
The reusable flange can be applied for the joint of different pipe materials. Fast installation time is beneficial for emergency recovery joint. Diameters up to 1200mm are available.
